I am Kurt Fuchs and I have been working in the mental health field since
1985. I earned a Masters in
Social Work (MSW) from Southern Connecticut State University in 1993. I was licensed in 1995 by the State of Connecticut to practice clinical social work (CT license number 003828). My license (as well as any professional who claims to be licensed) can be verified at https://www.elicense.ct.gov/.
I have worked with children,
adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including community mental health centers, a psychiatric
hospital, a youth service bureau, and the
Department of Children and Families (DCF).
I have worked with people who have had many types of issues that have
included (among others) depression, trauma, anger, schizophrenia, anxiety,
interpersonal communication, and child welfare.
I have had extensive training in different approaches to therapy including:
Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT)
Structural and Strategic Family Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Theory and the Ecological Perspective - the foundation of all social work education
I am currently a provider for all Aetna and Anthem BC/BS commercial health plans. Your out-of-pocket co-pay will be determined by the Anthem plan of which you are a member. If possible, please verify your coverage by calling the Member Services or Behavioral Health telephone numbers on your identification card prior to calling for your first appointment.
All other insurance plans: Please call your plan's Member Services Department to determine if they will reimburse me as an out of network provider. If your plan will not reimburse out of network, and you still wish to see me, my fee is $100 per hour.
